CAREER TO DATE

Peter began working in the insurance industry in the 80’s as a trainee broker at a local firm. Having spent about 8 years furthering his career locally, he elected to pursue a career in the City of London and joined a Lloyd’s Broker called Windsor. His initial focus was motorsport insurance, but Peter subsequently went on to spend almost 15 years in the International Fine Art and Specie market placing insurances for blockbuster exhibitions and art dealers, as well as jewellery insurance for international A-listers from the worlds of commerce and entertainment.

In 2015, Peter moved to Ellis Clowes who were a small independent Lloyd’s broker, specialising in motorsport and assumed the role of Broking Director. Despite their size, Ellis Clowes had some major motorsport clients including commercial rights holders, governing bodies, teams and individuals.

Peter joined Specialist Risk in March 2024, in its London-based team, to help further enhance our reputation and develop our client-base within this sector.

OUT OF THE OFFICE

Outside of SRG Peter is the proud father to three adult children and a 5-month old granddaughter. He is very much a family man and most of his free time is spent with family. However, when time permits, he loves to indulge in his passion for sport, albeit more as an enthusiastic armchair fan (particularly of the not-so-good-these-days Manchester United and the much-improved NFL team, the Chicago Bears!)

Peter loves to travel (especially to sunnier climes!) but also loves to visit Natural Trust sites and the like here in the UK. He doesn't have much of a social media presence and much prefers to indulge in reading books of all types and genres – something he is keen to encourage others to do!
