ABOUT CHRIS

Chris relishes the opportunity to assist clients. Chris prides himself on being available when a client is in crisis and needs advice and guidance. In both of his careers, he learned that failing to prepare and plan hinders the ability to respond. Chris focuses on supporting clients to ensure they have contingency plans in places to respond when required.

CAREER TO DATE

Insurance is Chris’s second career, he retired from the police service in 2010, having served 30 years. He specialised as a Search Advisor planning large scale searches for missing people and offensive searches to protect events and VIPs and recover evidence at major crime scenes. During some searches, he personally uncovered several live improvised explosive devices IEDs. Chris was also trained in rope access, CBRN and public order.

Following retirement from the police, Chris retrained and obtained Diplomas in both Occupational and Event Safety, starting a new career as a Risk Services Manager and sport broker. He assists clients managing risks linked to adventurous activities, motorsport and mass public events.  Chris provides client support and guidance on risk assessment and event safety planning together with post incident response to review incidents and defend claims. Chris is an active supporter of the event safety industry and has spoken at numerous events.

 

OUT OF THE OFFICE

Outside of work Chris lives in South Cheshire and is a family man, husband (to Eileen), father of three children and has three grandchildren. The children are all based in the Southwest which sees Chris regularly driving down the M5 to Gloucestershire and Cornwall.  

Whilst he's not the strongest when it comes to DIY, Chris likes to cycle, cook, and garden, and weekends are for the family and entertaining. Chris is a supporter of Mountain Rescue and volunteers to assist in formal Search Planning and Field Skills training when he can.
